A1 Towing NYC

A1 Towing NYC

Terms of Service

These terms apply when you book towing or roadside assistance with A1 Towing NYC, and to your use of this website. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable.

Booking a service

A booking is made when you call us and we confirm a job, a price and an estimated arrival window. Arrival times are estimates given in good faith. Traffic, weather and the volume of emergency calls affect them, and we would rather give you an honest window than an optimistic one.

You must be the owner of the vehicle or authorised by the owner to have it moved. We may ask for identification and proof of ownership, particularly for lockouts and for vehicles being released to someone other than the owner.

Pricing

We give you a price before a truck is dispatched, based on the location, the vehicle, the equipment required, the destination and the time of day. If any of those turn out to be materially different from what was described, the price may change, and we will tell you before further work is done rather than afterwards.

Additional charges may apply for winching or recovery where a vehicle is not on a driveable surface, for waiting time where a destination cannot receive the vehicle, and for storage where a vehicle is held.

Your vehicle and your belongings

Remove personal belongings, documents and anything of value before your vehicle is taken. We are not responsible for items left in a vehicle.

Tell us about anything that affects how the vehicle should be handled: all-wheel drive, low ground clearance, modifications, an electric drivetrain, a missing key, a seized engine, damaged suspension, or a fuel or fluid leak. Damage caused by information we were not given, or that was given incorrectly, is not something we can be responsible for.

Cancellation

Tell us as soon as you can if you no longer need the truck. If a truck has already been dispatched, a callout charge may apply, because the truck and the operator were committed to your job and unavailable for another.

Liability

We carry insurance appropriate to the work we do. Our responsibility is limited to damage caused by our own negligence in performing the service. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, for mechanical failure that was already present, for consequential losses such as missed appointments or lost earnings, or for delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures or the actions of third parties.

Inspect your vehicle on delivery and raise anything immediately. Damage reported at the time can be dealt with; damage reported weeks later cannot reasonably be attributed to the tow.

Storage and release

Where a vehicle is stored, storage charges accrue daily from the date of storage. Vehicles are released to the registered owner or to someone with written authorisation, on production of identification and proof of ownership, and once outstanding charges are settled.
